• The main DigiDestined cast was designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.
• Producer Satoru Nishizono and the staff used a name analysis software to decide on the characters' names, using kanji combinations that related to 'luck'.
• For Digimon Adventure tri., director Keitaro Motonaga found that some parts of developing the characters were 'difficult to control' due to the characters' 'strong personalities', but the staff had 'rebuilt' the characters by taking account of their personal growth while retaining their original personalities.
